That's right, pregnancy blogs are not just for mom anymore. Dad's have been discovering that blogging about the pregnancy process and having a baby can be an incredibly therapeutic experience. This serves the same purpose as a journal or diary, but one that other moms and dads can share and benefit from each other's perspective.
Many fathers to be are starting these blogs, usually with their first baby, and blogging every week about the changes within their wife and themselves. It has been shown that hormonal changes are not just for mom. Dad's too experience a proven increase in pregnancy hormones (a smaller amount) and this is there to help dad start creating the bond with the baby just like mom does during this time.
I myself started a blog with my first and only baby so far. I named my pregnancy blog "Baby in my Baby," and I started writing at 13 weeks, when my little girl was only as big as a grain of rice, and continued writing until the birth. It was a humbling and emotional experience and it made it easier by writing it and sharing it with other dads.
I also wrote about sympathy weight which was true in my case by the way, I gained about 22 pounds during pregnancy which is common I found out. I've recieved such a great response and have had so many positive comments from other new parents.
If you are father expecting and you're not very shy, why not try starting a dad pregnancy blog. You may be surprised how much you enjoy writing about this experience. It can further enrich what is sure to be one of the most wonderful times of your life.
